The municipality of Mjölby has a strategic geographical location for people and companies. By train you can reach Linköping in 20 minutes, Norrköping in 45 minutes and Stockholm in two hours.
The tourist industry is of great importance for the municipality with a large supply of activities. The most well-attended are the fair of Skänninge, Mantorp trotting race, motor events and shopping centres.
The business of Mjölby has a wide range from small and local companies or industries to large international companies. There are many strong companies within several lines of buiness, for example BT industries, world leader on trucks, with about 1300 employees.
