Social services
The social Services Department is available for everyone, and is a municipal responsibility. The Swedish Social Services Act specifies the kind of assistance you may recieve, and defines the municipality´s obligations. Everyone living in Sweden is, if needed, entitled to assistance according to the Social Services Act.
The Social Services Department has sepcial responsibilities for the following target groups:
- Children, young people and their families
- People with alcohol and drug abuse problems
- People with functional disabilities, and
- Elderly people.
